Last autumn one rose bloomed
to remind me in the spring
That love would be found again
When spring arrived, I gave my roses to you
buds of anticipation, all thorns removed
When they lost their bloom, I gave you more
until I had nothing more to give
No rose blooms this year
You found your garden
I brace myself for the long winter
